The Past - Bell Ringer April 6 through April 10


Read and think about what the following statement below is saying.  Then, respond to the statement by explaining how and why you agree or disagree with the statement. You MAY NOT use "I feel," "I think," "I believe," "In my opinion," "I agree," or "I disagree," in your response.  In order to receive FULL credit, your response must --
   1) be at least five to seven sentences, and
   2) contain one outside quote that supports your reasoning.

Assignment
Respond to the following statement:
Our past dictates who we become in our future.

Use the following as an example of an appropriately formatted and adequate response related to a different quote:
Everybody follows an example left behind by others. This is most likely the reason why when a famous person does something his or her "fan" group does the same and follows. If an actor was to wear Versace glasses their fan base would more than likely wear Versace glasses. It's like a trend going viral; everyone wants to conform to others and how they act or present themselves.  Peter Lindenbergh said it best when he stated "...they follow trends and they don't know why." 

Once you have crafted your response, click on the orange Comments link below, type out your response.  Make sure your response meets the requirements for FULL credit, click on the dropbox that says Comment As, go down to Name/URL, in the Name box type in your first initial, last name and class period (i.e. KEwing1C), leave the URL box blank, click on preview and proofread your response and then hit publish once you are ready to submit your response.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR NAME IS ON YOUR RESPONSE (i.e. KEwing1C). You will receive a message indicating once your response has been approved it will be published so please do not look for your response immediately after you publish.  Please screenshot your response in case your computer freezes or there is a glitch in the system that requires you to resubmit.  Any questions or concerns send a message in Google Classroom.
